What to do in Quiberon
- Presqu’île de Quiberon: a must-see in Brittany, the peninsula is attached to the mainland by a narrow sand tombolo, 22 meters wide at its narrowest point. Côte Sauvage: on the ocean side to the west, the wild coast offers a striking contrast to the calm, fine-sand beaches to the east. The spectacle of the waves breaking against the rocky cliffs is unmissable. Between megaliths, coves and seaside water sports, there’s plenty to do on this peninsula.
- Pointe du Conguel: at the tip of the peninsula, a discovery trail runs along this point. Here you can see ancient winkle ovens, the two islets of Petit Trou and Grand Trou, and the Teignouse lighthouse.
- Port-Haliguen: formerly a fishing port, Port-Haliguen is now a marina from which you can take a cruise in the Gulf of Morbihan or head out to sea for an introduction to deep-sea fishing, as well as rent boats and take sailing lessons.
- Château Turpault: on the tip of Beg er Lann, its majestic silhouette marks the entrance to the wild coast.
- Casino de Quiberon: slot machines, gaming tables and a restaurant with panoramic views over the bay.Plage du Porigo: near Port-Haliguen, this stretch of fine sand overlooks Quiberon Bay. Protected from westerly winds, it is ideal for family bathing and lounging.
- Pointe du Percho: a natural site popular with walkers and surfers alike. It marks the start of the wild coastline, with its breathtaking views.
What to do in Quiberon when it rains?
- Thalasso de Quiberon: the institute welcomes curists and day visitors alike for a wellness treatment, a relaxation session or a whirlpool bath overlooking the ocean.
- La Maison d’Armorine: a visit to the famous Niniches factory is a must in Quiberon. History and delicacies come together in this confectionery, which has been present on the peninsula since 1946.
- L’Atelier-Expo de Marie-Catherine Puget: in Kervihan, near the Côte Sauvage, the studio is an exhibition and learning site, with painting courses for all ages.
- The wild coast: in bad weather, the scenery is even more spectacular than usual! The sea rages on, more Instagrammable than ever, promising sublime shots for photography enthusiasts.
- Notre Dame de Locmaria: on rue de Port-Haliguen, this church will shelter you during a rainstorm. Built in the 15th century, restored in the 17th, it was topped by a lantern tower in the 19th. A storm in 1900 severely damaged the church, toppling its steeple.
